A little inspiration...

My brother in law posted this video on our family website and I thought it was really cool....it's 11 and a half minutes so turn it on when you have the spare time...but I believe it's really worth it: http://video.stumbleupon.com/#p=ithct48cqw

And the next one is my favorite American Idol contestant...I just love watching this video and thought I would share it: http://www.americanidol.com/videos/?vid=966&pcs=499

Lately...

I took these pics a few nights ago...this is part of our night time routine with Taylor (brushing teeth) and this night she insisted on holding her puppy and baby the whole time.

After she brushes her teeth she says goodnight to everyone, including Maddie....this is her getting her goodnight kiss. :-)

We have been pretty busy lately getting things ready for the new baby and Tom with his work. An update on Maddie, she's been off of her medication and has been doing great! No seizures so far. We're so glad she's okay. But, she did get herself into some trouble by eating some chocolate cake we had on our stove and eating an ENTIRE loaf of bread during the night!!! She's not usually such a stinker (well she was when she was a puppy) but has been so much better lately...until that one lone evening and night! She spent quite a bit of time in her kennel so hopefully she learned her lesson at least for another year or two...

I had an ultrasound last Thursday and the baby looks great and according to calculations that they do of their head, abdomen and femer he weighed approximately 5 lbs. 10 ou. so he's growing well! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by though and that we'll have this baby here in no time! A part of me is getting more excited to not be pregnant anymore b/c I'm getting bigger and more uncomfortable and have a hard time sleeping, but another part of me is still so nervous! Can't turn back now though I guess! :-)

This last weekend was so nice....on Friday our ward (church) had a sweethearts dance. There weren't a whole lot of people there (about 15-18 couples) but it was so fun! I am really feeling more at home and more familiar with everyone here. It's great. Then on Saturday Tom had some work stuff he had to do so we decided to work around it and go to Denver to the temple (it was such a nice day to be out and about) and ate at one of our favorite places (Costa Vida) and then we went to a blue and gold banquet where Tom had to give a presentation. Sunday, church was great and then we went and toured the hospital's birth center where we're delivering. It just opened last year and is really nice AND they give the mom and dad a steak and lobster dinner! Isn't that crazy? We actually showed up to the tour a couple of minutes late and this really friendly guy filled us in on what we missed and he said that (about the steak and lobster dinner) and I said "Are you serious?!" b/c I thought he was trying to pull my chain. But, the nurse confirmed! That'll be something to look forward to. Yesterday, I just loved having Tom home from work for one more day. We had a nice laid back morning (Taylor took an extra long nap) and then we stocked up on groceries and went to a couple other stores.

Well, that's about it! I hope everyone is doing great and is having a great start to your week!

Last night...

I have been wanting to video Taylor doing her signs and saying her words before...you know all of a sudden years have gone by and it's too late. So last night before bedtime she was goofing off having fun with her Daddy so we got most of her signs and some of her words. We get such a kick out of her doing sign language b/c it's so cute to see her moving her little hands. It took forever (it seemed) to teach her the first sign (more) but now she can learn something new right away and I'm amazed at how these little kids remember things! You can hit the pause button on the music list to get it to stop playing the songs...Enjoy!

Uncle Tom's Cabin...

I just wanted to pay tribute to Harriet Beacher Stowe and pass along a great recommendation. I just got finished reading this book a couple weeks ago and it's been on my mind a lot since. I kept mentioning small parts of the book here and there to Tom as I was reading it but when I finished it I told him it was one of THE best books I have ever read. Anyway, maybe many of you have read it b/c it's a classic and probably grew up hearing about it, but I finally checked it out at the library and started reading it and I am so glad I did! If you want to read a very moving, touching, impactful story to read then you should read this book. I am very sure you'll be glad you do! If you've already read it then I would love to hear what you thougt...

IOL

Well, we went ahead and scheduled our "Induction of Labor" for March 17th!!! Yikes! I feel like it'll be here before we know it and there's a lot of things I want to have done by then. I think it was Misti telling me that Easter was the next Sunday that helped me make up my mind and also my dad may be able to come with my mom the weekend before and then go back home to work early the next week. (My mom will stay for a couple of weeks-which we LOVE! It was so nice when she stayed with us when we had Taylor). Anyway, they are going to do an ultrasound at my next appointment in two weeks to make sure the baby is doing okay and will be plenty big enough and everything. So, if that goes well and unless I for some bizarre reason go into labor earlier we'll be having our little boy on St. Patrick's Day! Oh yeah, we are supposed to arrive at the hospital at 5:30 a.m.!!!

An Update on Maddie...

Well, she's been pretty doped up all week on the valium...but she hasn't had another seizure. She has been wandering around our home and sometimes running into things b/c she's so loopy. At times we haven't been able to help but laugh at her. She's thankfully still been very sweet with Taylor and us which is great b/c Taylor just loves sitting and playing with Maddie. We're taking her in tomorrow morning to the vet to have her checked out and see if we should put her on anti-seizure meds or not. So, we'll know more after her check up tomorrow.
